About Me

Growing up in Germany’s Lower Rhine region, I was inspired from an early age by its quiet, pastoral landscapes and introduced to the artistic tradition of the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie. Now based in the Rhône region, I continue to draw inspiration from my travels throughout Europe and southern Africa.

Initially, it was thanks to my teacher, Wilhelm Schiefer (a sculptor in North Rhine-Westphalia), who introduced me to light and shadow, and the resulting relief.
